The Pastoral Care Department of Ellis Hospital is offering a one day workshop on making effective visits to those who are hospitalized/homebound/or residingin a nursing home. Topics to be discussed include: the spiritual needs of the sick/elderly; to pray or not to pray; the difference between a social visit and a pastoral visit;hoe to respondto difficult questions; listening with an open heart; and taking care of one's self in this ministry. The workshop is open to all who have an interest in visitation ministry. There is no charge to attend. Please register for this workshop no later than Tuesday, September 14th by calling the Pastoral Care Office at Ellis Hospital 243-4158.

The New Testament program has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 25 from 9:30am to 4:00pm. The registration forms will be in the narthex.Have fun while learning the Bible! Learn the New Testament in one day! Well - maybe not everything. But in a few creative, interactive and funfilled hours you can learn the basic outline of the New Testament, the important stories and people, and the major events in the life of Jesus in sequence. This is not yourusual boring, note-taking seminar! The cost is $25, which includes lunch and childcare.
