A person was in my office the other day...

...and asked me if they could give my name and number to some friends who were seeking to connect with God but had some bad experiences with churches and pastors in the past. What a wonderful thing to offer and what a privilege to help people connect to God! Sometimes -- and frequently at the beginning – this connection needs to happen outside the church and even “in spite of” the church. But I believe that, even with all the faults of the church (and they are many, as are mine), God wants to connect with us through the community of believers where we will be repeatedly challenged to grow in faith and discipleship and be given encouragement and opportunities for service in God’s reign.
